Pay what you think this winter!

How would you like to choose your own price for a powered or unpowered site at Motutere Bay TOP 10 Holiday Park? This July and August TOP 10 Club Card members can do exactly that with our Pay What You Think promotion!

From the beginning of time, holiday parks and campgrounds have all worked the same. They tell you the price, you either pay it or you go somewhere else. Well we are flipping that on its head this winter. We are giving the price-setting powers to our valued TOP 10 Club Card members!

How does it work?Tents over Water

  1. Make a booking to stay on a powered or unpowered site at Motutere Bay TOP 10 Holiday Park in July or August 2018 and you choose what nightly rate you are willing to pay.
  2. Enjoy your stay on gorgeous Lake Taupo
  3. Tell all your friends!

Why are we doing it?

There are three reasons we wanted to try out “Pay What You Think” pricing:

  1. It’s quiet in winter. We get a little lonely and would love to share everything Motutere Bay has to offer with some new friends.
  2. We want to know what our guests feel a “fair” price is for what we offer. Call it live market research.
  3. We just like to do things differently!

What’s the catch?

There isn’t one! You really can choose your own price. We only ask you consider three things:

  1. Nominate your site price as a per person, per night amount. The amount must be in whole dollars (no one wants to count all those cents!)
  2. When setting your price, all we ask is that you Pay What You Think is a fair price for the experience we offer.
  3. You must be a TOP 10 Club Card member to participate. If you want to join it’s $49 for 2 years and we can help you with that during your booking.

  2. Drop us an email or talk to us on Live Chat
  3. Use the booking request form below (our normal booking engine won’t allow you to choose your own price)

What if you want to stay in a cabin/unit?

We aren’t running Pay What You Think on accommodation just yet, but to keep in the spirit of great deals we are offering 20% off all of our accommodation (minimum 2 night stay) for TOP 10 Club Card members during July and August. You will see our special member only rates on any of our book now pages.

Terms and Conditions

  • Valid for stays between 1 July 2018 and 31 August 2018.
  • Only valid for powered and unpowered sites. Not valid on accommodation.
  • Price quoted must be per person, per night and be in whole dollars.
  • The price includes your site and regular inclusions only. Any additional tours, meals or attractions are charged at normal rates.
  • Not valid for existing bookings. Any extra nights added to existing bookings are eligible for Pay What You Think Pricing though.
  • Only valid for bookings direct with the park. Not valid for bookings via any third party site or agent.
  • You may be sent a survey about the promotion after your stay. This is not compulsory but we really would appreciate your feedback!


COVID-19 Level 4 Alert Park Status:

Currently in lockdown

An update to all our loyal guests during these surreal and uncertain times. As we navigate this situation, we continue to keep the safety and wellbeing of our customers and team members at the forefront of our thinking. We want to let you know more about what we are doing in our park in response to COVID-19.

Now that we are at Alert Level 4, we are closed to leisure guests and are only accommodating our permanent residents and some essential travellers for the lockdown period. These travellers are staying under the following conditions:

- Guests are staying in self-contained campervans or caravans, or our self-contained units only
- Communal facilities and shared areas of the park are closed
- A minimum night stay of 28 days applies, to ensure that all guests follow through with the government’s 4-week lockdown requirements, unless proof of an outbound flight can be presented to staff
- Our reception, maintenance and cleaning service will be at reduced capacity and/or operated remotely as circumstances in the park dictate
- We are having to limit, restrict or cease face-to-face interaction, but will do our best to deliver our usual high quality of customer service while adopting safe social distancing practices

If you have a booking made with us and were due to arrive during or in the months immediately following the lockdown, please get in contact with our team to discuss your options.
